Rickshaw Art Festival at NSU: A Celebration of Art and Culture. The Rickshaw Art Festival and Photo Exhibition was recently held at the Exhibition Hall of North South University, organized by the North South University Art and Photography Club. The event was graced by the presence of the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, Brent Christensen, along with his wife Diane, who enjoyed the vibrant cultural atmosphere. Members of the Board of Trustees and the Vice-Chancellor were also present at the event.

Renowned Bangladeshi rickshaw artist Mohammad Hanif Pappu, along with his associate Monir Hossain, played a significant role in the festival. The event took place on January 28, 29, and 31, 2026. The exhibition featured photography series titled “Aynabaji,” “Monpura,” and “Rickshaw Girls,” showcasing the rich cultural heritage, folk traditions, and urban life of Bangladesh through creative visual storytelling.

According to the organizers, the main objective of the festival and exhibition was to inspire young people to engage with art and culture and to present rickshaw art as a moving canvas. The guests praised the initiative and expressed hope that such cultural programs would continue to expand in the future.

The Rickshaw Art Festival has added a new dimension to North South University’s cultural activities and is regarded as an important platform for students’ creative expression.
