NSU Hosts Discussion and Prayer Session Marking Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) 2026. North South University (NSU) has hosted a discussion and prayer session on Thursday (August 27, 2026) to observe Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH) 2026 at the university’s Main Auditorium. The program featured discussions on the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), along with Quran recitation, Hamd and Naat, a documentary screening, and a special prayer. Faculty members, students, officers, staff, and guests attended the event.
The program was attended by Mr. Shamim Kaiser, State Minister for Religious Affairs of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as the chief guest. Mr. Benajir Ahmed, Member and former Chairman of the NSU Board of Trustees, attended as the special guest. Dr. Ziaul Haque Adnan, Chairman of the Department of Management at NSU, delivered the keynote address, while Mr. M. M. Nawaz Amin, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management at NSU, led the prayer. Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University, chaired the program, and Professor Nasar U. Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU, delivered the welcome address.
In his welcome address, Professor Nasar U. Ahmed said, “The life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are a source of inspiration for every one of us in every situation. Allah has blessed us with the capacity to think freely and make informed choices. We should use this ability to understand and follow the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) in our daily lives.”
Chief guest State Minister Shamim Kaiser said, “Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) brought the Holy Quran to us from Almighty Allah. The Quran contains guidance on science, technology, business, and how we should conduct our lives. If we can truly embrace the Quran, not simply by reading it, but by understanding its teachings and applying them in our lives, we can bring meaningful and positive changes to our personal lives, society, and the nation.”
Special guest Mr. Benajir Ahmed said, “Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is an important occasion for us to renew our remembrance of the ideals and humanitarian teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His life, honesty, sense of justice, humility, and exemplary character serve as an ideal for us to emulate. By following his ideals, we can play an important role in shaping our personal lives, society, and the nation.”
Keynote speaker Dr. Ziaul Haque Adnan highlighted five key takeaways from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He said, “Commitment and conviction, never losing hope, maintaining a strong connection with Allah, and learning how to treat others with kindness, respect and compassion. The life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) teaches us the importance of patience, humanity and good character in our everyday lives.”

In his remarks, Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said, “Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was selfless and devoted his life to the well-being of others. He did everything possible for the welfare of humanity. His life demonstrates how a person can dedicate himself not only to the betterment of a nation but also to the greater good of all humanity.”
