James to Rock NSU 26th Convocation Ceremony

The anticipation on the North South University (NSU) campus has reached a fever pitch as the institution prepares for its 26th Convocation on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. While the morning is dedicated to the prestigious academic ceremony, the university has officially confirmed that the day will conclude with a massive cultural celebration headlined by none other than the “Rock Guru” himself, James and his band, Nagar Baul.

The day’s festivities are split into two distinct segments. The formal convocation begins at 10:30 am at the Bashundhara permanent campus, where hundreds of graduates will receive their hard-earned degrees. Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, the Education Adviser to the Government, will preside over the event, joined by the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Professor Dr. SMA Faiz.

However, the “main event” for many students begins as the sun sets. The university has scheduled the much-awaited live concert to start after 6:00 pm. James, a legendary figure in the Bangladeshi music scene, is expected to perform an extensive set featuring his iconic hits like “Sultana Bibiana,” “Maa,” and “Taray Taray Rotiye Debo.” This performance marks a grand “farewell gift” to the outgoing batch, providing a high-energy end to their university journey.

University administration has emphasized that safety remains the top priority. Strict security protocols will be in place throughout the day. Entry is restricted to graduates and their two pre-registered guests only. Graduates are reminded that they must be in their seats by 9:30 am for the morning session, and original invitation cards will be required for campus entry during both the ceremony and the 6:00 pm concert.

With the blend of academic honors in the morning and the electric energy of James in the evening, the 26th Convocation is set to be the most talked-about event in NSU’s history.
