NSU Department of Law Hosts Business Law Talk on Health, Business and Law. North South University’s (NSU) Department of Law organized a session of its Business Law Talks series in the Moot Court Room. The talk, titled “Health Beyond Hospitals: Why Every Future Business Leader and Lawyer Should Care?”, was delivered by Professor Dipak Kumar Mitra, Dean of the School of Health and Life Sciences, North South University.
The event commenced with opening remarks by Professor Ishtiaque Ahmed, Chair of the Department of Law, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary learning in preparing future legal and business professionals to address contemporary societal challenges.
The program was graced by Professor Nasar U. Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor of North South University, as the Chief Guest. Professor Md. Rizwanul Islam, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, served as the Session Chair and highlighted the growing relevance of health-related issues in legal, business, and public policy discourse.
In his keynote address, Professor Dipak Kumar Mitra discussed how health extends beyond hospitals and healthcare systems, underscoring its profound implications for business governance, corporate responsibility, legal frameworks, and sustainable development. He encouraged students and professionals to adopt a broader understanding of health as a critical component of effective leadership and policymaking.
The event was organized and moderated by Advocate Saquib Rahman, Business Law Programs Coordinator and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Law, North South University. The session attracted enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and professionals, followed by an engaging question-and-answer segment.
