AANSU USA Chapter Celebrates Pohela Boishakh 1433 in New York. The Alumni Association of North South University (AANSU) USA Chapter organized an outstanding Pohela Boishakh 1433 celebration in New York, bringing together NSU alumni, friends, and families in a vibrant display of Bangladeshi culture and tradition.

The Alumni Association of North South University (AANSU USA Chapter) proudly celebrated Pohela Boishakh 1433 on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Glen Oaks, Queens, New York, with a spectacular gathering filled with culture, music, food, and alumni bonding.

Hosted beautifully by Opu Zaman, the event brought together NSU alumni, families, and friends from across the community to welcome the Bengali New Year in a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

The venue was transformed into a colorful celebration of Bangladeshi heritage through the outstanding decoration and event arrangement by Shashi, Alvi, Sadia Mumu, Shahreen, Eva, Turna, Lamiya, Reasat, Zunayeed, Jawad, Amjad, and Ashfaq. Their creativity and dedication made the event truly memorable.

The program began with warm hospitality, snacks, and networking, followed by wonderful musical performances by Gazi Salahuddin, Nikon, Ali, and Farzana Shormin, setting the tone for a joyful Boishakhi celebration.

Guests then enjoyed an authentic Bangladeshi traditional lunch, thoughtfully arranged by Firoz, Banna, and Masbah, featuring delicious homemade-style Bengali cuisine that brought the taste of Bangladesh to New York.

The fun-filled games and interactive activities hosted by Tasnim Khan and Humaira added laughter and excitement for attendees of all ages. The event moments were beautifully captured through photography by Amjad, preserving memories of this colorful celebration.

One of the major highlights of the evening was the mind-blowing performance by Nazu Akhand, which energized the crowd and created an unforgettable atmosphere. Guests also enjoyed evening snacks including fuchka, cha, and donuts for the kids, adding a warm community touch to the celebration.

The grand finale featured an electrifying performance by Turjo of BIM and Lalon Band, ending the night with music, energy, and celebration.

More than 120 guests attended the event, making it one of the most successful and memorable Pohela Boishakh celebrations organized by AANSU USA Chapter.

We were especially honored by the presence of Hon. Justice Soma Syed of the New York State Supreme Court, whose attendance added prestige and inspiration to the event.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, and supported this wonderful celebration. Together, we celebrated our roots, culture, friendship, and the spirit of the Bengali New Year.
