NSU Students Invited to Join Global Youth Summit for Human Rights 2026. North South University students have a great chance to join an international event this month. The University of Arizona is hosting the Virtual Global Youth Summit for Human Rights from March 25 to March 27, 2026. This online meeting brings young leaders together from all over the world to talk about important topics like girls’ education, climate change, and how young people can make a difference in the world.
It is a proud moment for our campus as NSU student Juthika Basharat Karim will help organize the special sessions focused on girls’ education. Students who take part in this event will not only learn from experts but can also earn official certificates and digital badges. These rewards can help build a strong CV, and some parts of the program may even offer graduate credits for future studies.
The summit is designed to be very interactive. Instead of just listening to long speeches, students will join specific “tracks” or study groups. Each group meets for two hours every day for three days. This six-hour total gives everyone enough time to work on real-world projects and talk deeply with other students from different countries.
The daily schedule follows Arizona Time, which is important to remember when planning your day. The first set of sessions runs from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. each morning. After that, there is a special community hour from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for everyone to meet. The first day features a big opening ceremony, the second day includes poetry readings, and the final day shows off art presentations. A second set of study groups then meets from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
The opening ceremony on March 25 will be very special. It features famous speakers like Anna Eleanor Fierst, who is the great-granddaughter of Eleanor Roosevelt. She will be joined by Habib Malik, the President of the Charles Malik Institute. Hearing from these leaders is a rare opportunity to understand the history and future of human rights work.
