The program is offered by the Department of English and Modern Languages (DEML) and includes specializations in TESOL, Linguistics, and Literature. The M.A. in English at NSU is not a “one-size-fits-all” degree. Recognizing the diverse career goals of its students, the program offers three distinct specializations:
- TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages): The gold standard for those aiming for careers in international education and language coaching.
- Linguistics: A deep dive into the structure, evolution, and social impact of language.
- Literature: For the thinkers and critics focused on the power of narrative, theory, and cultural history.
