NSU Students Complete EFEC 2026 Exchange in Malaysia. North South University has welcomed home a group of students who recently completed the EduCultural-Research Fusion Exchange (EFEC) 2026, an inbound mobility programme hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). For the participants, the trip turned into far more than an academic exercise abroad it became a mix of coursework, cultural immersion, and international networking that few classroom settings can replicate.
Over the course of the programme, students sat in on academic and interactive sessions built around sharpening communication, problem-solving, and subject knowledge. They also worked alongside peers from other countries in mixed teams, comparing notes on how pharmacy and healthcare education differs from one country to the next an exercise that, by most accounts, left a lasting impression on how they think about their own field.
What set EFEC 2026 apart, according to those involved, was how deliberately it wove cultural experience into the academic schedule. Beyond lectures and lab work, students visited sites connected to Malaysia’s heritage and history, giving them a chance to understand the country outside the confines of a university building. Along the way, many of the participants formed friendships that extended well past the programme’s official activities.

NSU’s Office of External Affairs, which backs international mobility programmes like this one, said the experience is meant to give students practical exposure to different cultures and academic systems exposure that tends to pay off well beyond graduation.
