NSU Students Bring Eid Gifts and Smiles to Madrasa Children. With the festive spirit of Eid just around the corner, the students of North South University (NSU) stepped up to make the holiday special for those in need. On Monday, March 9, the NSU Social Services Club traveled to the Jamia Islamia Darul Karar Madrasa in Mohammadpur to host their “Iftar Distribution and Eid Clothing 2026” event.
The day was all about sharing the joy of Ramadan. The university volunteers didn’t just bring food; they brought hope and brand-new clothes for the children. In total, 550 sets of new Eid outfits were given away, including 250 dresses for girls and 300 for boys. For many of these children, these are the only new clothes they will receive for the upcoming festival.
The atmosphere at the madrasa was full of excitement. As the sun began to set, the university students sat down with the children to share a communal Iftar meal. This personal interaction was a key part of the day, helping the volunteers understand the lives of the students they were helping while fostering a sense of friendship and unity.
Meshbaul Hassan Chowdhury, the club’s Faculty Advisor, explained that the goal of the event was to show the true meaning of Ramadan—kindness and helping others. He noted that seeing the happiness on the children’s faces was the greatest reward for the team.
The club’s President, Khalid Bin Morshed Ramim, also shared his pride in the student volunteers. He thanked everyone for their hard work and promised that the club would keep working on similar projects to help the underprivileged in the future.
This event is part of a long-standing tradition for the NSU Social Services Club. They believe that even a small act of kindness, like giving a new dress or sharing a meal, can make a huge difference in someone’s life. By the end of the evening, the madrasa was filled with laughter and gratitude, proving that the spirit of Eid is truly about looking out for one another.
