NSU organizes “Beyond Exam Anxiety – Season 3” Workshop. North South University’s (NSU) Counseling and Wellbeing Center (CWC) organized “Beyond Exam Anxiety – Season 3,” a workshop aimed at helping students effectively manage exam-related stress, develop healthy coping strategies, and enhance their academic performance on 11 August 2026 (Tuesday). Practical strategies for managing exam anxiety, improving focus, and maintaining emotional wellbeing during academic challenges were discussed and demonstrated.
The psychologist explained how the educational system overemphasizes exams over study. Exam-focused study eventually led to superficial surface learning and suggestion-based selective preparation. Eventually, the students feel inadequacy, lack of competence, and self-doubt. Facilitators pointed out that a minimum amount of stress is a normal part of life. Instead of being anxious, the energy from the stress can be utilized for productivity. Workshop facilitators requested the students to work on their life goals and planning.

Prominent Molecular Biologist and Biotechnologist Professor Dr Abdul Khaleque from the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and respecting the body’s biological clock. He explained that disrupting the biological clock can negatively affect well-being and highlighted the role of adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, hydration, and stress management in maintaining physical and psychological health. He also encouraged students to understand their biological processes and develop healthy routines to support their overall well-being.”
The session also featured valuable insights from the Professor & Director, MBA/EMBA Programs. Dr. Nazlee Siddiqui stated that anxiety may be a natural part of exams, but we do not have to let it control the outcome. Through proactive preparation, self-regulation, and positive self-belief, students can approach every test and challenge with greater confidence and purpose.”
Through interactive sessions and practical activities, participants explored ways to identify exam-related stressors, manage anxious thoughts, regulate emotions, and adopt more effective study and coping strategies.
